OCEAN EYES

My first painting I ever painted. 

I let the brush take me by surprise. I was in lockdown and needed to explore my artistic abilities and try something new. 

Something abstract, modern and contemporary with a dash of gold leaf to give it that “luxurious” feel. 

Layer upon layer. I was finally done. I felt vulnerable and excited all at the same time.  

Ocean Eyes was my first abstract artwork, conceived out of a desire to get my life moving again and explore my artistic abilities, during the hard lockdowns of 2019. I didn’t have a plan, I just started painting and let the brush guide me, layer after layer, the colours and tones all seeming to jump out at me when their time came. This artwork is me, being totally vulnerable and surrendering to my creative nature, and the canvas, an exciting and terrifying experience all at once, but the final result blew me away. And the only input I had, was a dash of gold leaf to create a more luxurious and unique artwork. And so, Ocean Eyes was born. My hand, the oceans eyes.
