NEW BEGINNINGS

A painting I originally painted for my own home.It started off with pastel colours. Very light, calm and airy. I then hung it up and each week I decided to add a different layer because I felt it needed some more contrast. After doing this  process of hanging up and painting another layer it ended up being a completely different painting. This was one that was a lot more dramatic than how it started.  

This painting was originally intended for my own home. I was looking for something light, calm and airy and so I started out with pastel colours, and would paint a bit and hang it up for a week or two to get a feel for it, then add a different element or layer. Gradually over time, this canvas took shape and ended up being very different to what I had originally envisioned.

A painting of vast contrast, depicting the duality of life, from the purity of white elements to the dark hues of passion and black, each colour and element somehow speaking volumes about how life unfolds, without saying a word. Each element when viewed from up close, full of depth and drama, and yet as one stands further back, the full beauty of the combined pieces comes to life, like a life well lived, beautiful and messy all at once.
